Job summary

Berry Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Temporary Lab Operations Assistant in Abingdon/Milton Park to support routine lab tasks, inventory management, and safety procedures. The role runs 9am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday, at Milton Park.

The ideal candidate will have Mathematics GCSE, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with the team. Proficiency in MS Office and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Mathematics GCSE grade C or above.
• Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate inventory records and following laboratory protocols.
• Independent and collaborative working: ability to work self-sufficiently while contributing to team objectives.
• Clear and effective communication for lab coordination and cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to lift/carry heavy items and maintain prolonged standing positions during laboratory work.
• Competent with Microsoft Office applications.
• Team orientation: build relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• Adaptability: adjust to changing needs and pick up new tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Autoclaving and glassware cleaning.
• Processing goods with COSHH, stock control and team communication.
• Monitor inventory and ensure stock is available for the team.
• Coordinate deep cleaning of equipment and weekly cleaning schedule with lab users, following best practices.
• Troubleshoot facilities issues with the operations team.
