Job summary

Confidential in Exeter is seeking a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis to support day-to-day transactional activities within a growing finance team. The role offers hybrid working and a chance to gain exposure across the finance function.

The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, strong attention to detail, solid Excel skills, and familiarity with Sage or Xero. Immediate start available and contract length up to six months.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance or accounting environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using accounting software such as Sage or Xero.

Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable activities.
• Raise customer invoices and support credit control processes.
• Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
• Process electronic payments and bank transactions.
• Monitor outstanding debt and chase overdue payments.
• Assist with cashflow reporting.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation.
• Respond to finance-related queries from stakeholders.
• Support finance projects and process improvement initiatives.
