To assist in providing an in-house catering service to all patients, and where applicable staff and visitors at Keswick hospital
The post holder will carry out work in accordance with quality standards and follow established procedures. Work to duties as set by the Catering Supervisor, who will review performance and undertake appraisal.
To work as part of a team within the main kitchen providing a good quality nutritious and safe catering service to all patients, staff and visitors (where applicable) in our hospitals
Food Safety
Adhere to all procedures for recording required HACCP data on a daily basis
Take receipt and unload all kitchen supplies deliveries, checking the items against the delivery quality standards and storing them appropriately
Record the delivery of all incoming goods, date them and store appropriatel
Be responsible for exercising and monitoring stock rotation in all food storage areas
Food Preparation
Pick frozen meals from storage and prepare for distribution to wards in accordance with ward meal order requirements
Deliver frozen meals and load into trolleys at ward level as a and when required
Pick frozen meals and regenerate according to dining room menu requirements
Prepare sandwiches and salads in the cold prep room and sandwich bar on a daily basis
Prepare sandwiches for buffet and working lunches
Cook breakfast /Lunch items on a daily basis
Prepare snacks and serve meals in dining room
