Job summary

Berry Recruitment is seeking a Temporary General Assistant (Catering Assistant / Kitchen Porter) to support a busy office canteen in Camborne for a short-term assignment. This hands-on role combines catering and kitchen porter duties, ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and delivering excellent customer service.

Duties include food prep, serving, cleaning, washing dishes, stock support and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Level 1 Food Hygiene Certificate (essential).
• Previous catering, hospitality or kitchen experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment.
• Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with food preparation, including chopping vegetables and preparing straightforward food items.
• Serving food and beverages over the counter.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
• Washing dishes, utensils and catering equipment.
• Supporting stock management and replenishment.
• Following all Health & Safety, food hygiene and allergen regulations.
