Job description

Vickerstock is proud to be partnering with an innovative manufacturer of passenger vessels based in Belfast to an experienced and proactive Buyers.

This is a temporary 6-month contract, with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the sourcing and purchasing of materials for cutting-edge marine vessels within a forward-thinking and respected company.

Key Responsibilities:

Source and procure materials, components, and services required for the production of passenger vessels, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure the best possible value for the company.

Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and onboarding new suppliers as necessary.

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production teams to ensure materials are available as needed.

Analyze market trends and assess potential risks to maintain a stable supply chain.

Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and relevant regulations.

Prepare and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgets.

Collaborate with internal departments to forecast demand and plan procurement activities accordingly.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience as a Buyer or in a procurement role, preferably within a manufacturing or marine industry.

Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.

Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
