Job summary

Howett Thorpe are recruiting a temporary Bookkeeper for an immediate start in Fleet. The role supports the Finance Manager and Finance Director across day-to-day bookkeeping, payroll and month-end accounting. Initially onsite with potential for hybrid working as you establish independence.

The assignment runs until the end of December 2026, with a possible extension to March 2027. Working hours are 09:00–17:00, and you'll collaborate closely with senior finance leaders to ensure accurate

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a varied bookkeeping or finance role.
• Experience with purchase ledger, cashbook maintenance and bank reconciliations.
• Experience supporting payroll, VAT and CIS returns.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cashbook and purchase ledger.
• Process payments and perform bank reconciliations.
• Support subcontractor administration and CIS returns.
