Job Description:

Do you want to join a leading UK manufacturer of away-from-home paper hygiene products based on Stafford Park, Telford?

We are looking for a permanent Maintenance Shift Cover Engineer to join our growing and highly skilled Engineering team.

As the Maintenance Shift Cover Engineer, you will be working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern in a high-tempo engineering environment, rotating 06:00/18:00 - 18:00/06:00, based at our Telford site.

Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, you will ensure that the facilities, equipment, and machinery are effectively and efficiently maintained in a safe and cost-effective manner.

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures to promote process stability and capability.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategies, systems, processes, and procedures to improve equipment reliability.
  • Identify equipment issues and advise on work needed and opportunities for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems and team learning.
  • Carry out Criticality/Obsolescence assessments and implement action plans.
Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Highly developed fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in PLC fault-finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read complex electrical and engineering drawings.

Desirable

  • HND/Degree qualified Electrical Engineer.
  • Good IT skills - MS Office.
  • Ability to understand and modify ladder logic.
  • Ability to write PLC programs.
  • Experience in software/hardware integration.

Any maintenance engineer from a manufacturing environment such as FMCG, Food, Plastic, Packaging, Distribution, Automotive, Metals, Forces, etc., is welcome.
