Overview

Are you an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer looking to join a leading UK manufacturer based on Stafford Park, Telford? Northwood would like to hear from you. We are a group of associated companies that provide the manufacturing, supply and transportation of paper hygiene and wiping products for both the commercial and consumer market. We are seeking a permanent experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our Engineering team. You will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern in a high tempo engineering environment, rotating 06:00/18:00 - 18:00/06:00.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 procedures to promote process stability and capability.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice maintenance strategy, systems, processes and procedures to improve equipment reliability.
  • Identify equipment issues and advise on work needed and opportunities for improvement.
  • Trouble shoot equipment/process problems to root cause in conjunction with team members to ensure rapid resolution of problems and ensure team members learn from the experience.
  • Involved in carrying out Criticality/Obsolescence assessments and implementing action plans.

Requirements
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years experience working as a multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer.
  • Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualified in both mechanical and electrical multi-skilled disciplines.
  • Highly developed fault finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in PLC fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Ability to read complex electrical and engineering drawings.
Desirable
  • HND/Degree qualified Electrical Engineer
  • Good IT skills - MS Office
  • Able to understand and change ladder logic.
  • Able to write PLC programs.
  • Experience in software / hardware integration
