Job summary

We are looking for a Healthcare Navigator/Telephonist/Administrator with a caring nature and a proactive professional manner to provide a high standard of care for our patients. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with good communication skills and a commitment to working as part of a strong and effective team.

Please note that Corner Place Surgery does not operate an Agenda for Change pay scheme.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 11th & Thursday 12th June

Main duties of the job
  1. Follow practice protocols regarding appointments, telephone contact, messages, requests for home visits, repeat prescriptions, and all other patient contact.
  2. Ensure all patient contact is conducted sensitively with a high level of customer service, considering that patients, relatives, and carers may be distressed.
  3. Answer telephones promptly, politely, and within practice protocols.
  4. Make, change, and delete appointments as appropriate, considering the needs of the clinical team.
  5. Direct patients appropriately within the surgery and monitor clinic delays to inform patients.
  6. Inform patients of payments for non-NHS services and record such payments accurately.
  7. Perform photocopying as necessary.
  8. Register patients accurately, including all paperwork and computer records for new babies, fully registered patients, and temporary residents.
  9. Handle prescription requests following practice protocol.
  10. Take responsibility for messages received, ensuring they are appropriate, accurate, and passed to the right person or dealt with directly.
