Job summary

Randstad CPE is recruiting an experienced Telehandler Driver for an ongoing contract on a high-volume residential development in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role requires operating a telescopic handler, loading and unloading materials, and supporting site teams with lifts and ground handling.

The successful candidate will hold a CPCS or NPORS Telescopic Handler card, a valid UK driving licence, full PPE, and a safety-conscious, punctual approach with good radio communication on site.

Qualifications

• Valid CPCS or NPORS Card with Telescopic Handler category.
• Proven experience operating a Telehandler on residential new build housing schemes.
• Full PPE (Hard hat, high-vis jacket/vest, steel toe cap boots).
• Valid UK Driving Licence.
• Safety-conscious attitude, dependable work ethic, and excellent punctuality.
• Strong communication skills via site two-way radio.
• Based in or easily commutable to Newcastle upon Tyne.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating a telescopic handler across an active, busy new build housing development.
• Unloading delivery wagons and safely stacking and distributing materials (brick packs, blockwork, timber kits, roof trusses).
• Servicing bricklayers, joiners, and roofers with planned ground and scaffold loading lifts.
• Conducting daily pre-use plant checks, logging machine inspections, and keeping the cab and telehandler clean and well-maintained.
• Adhering strictly to site traffic management plans, pedestrian segregation routes, and safe working load limits.
• Assisting site management during quiet operating periods with compound organization and general site housekeeping.
