Job summary

Laing O'Rourke is seeking a Telehandler Operator to on-site support lifting and loading tasks on construction projects in the UK. You will perform pre-start checks and routine inspections to ensure safe, reliable operation, and carry out daily walk-around checks as recommended by the OEM.

The role requires awareness of lifting operations, exclusion zones, and safe working limits, with certification and a full UK driving license considered advantageous.

Qualifications

• Daily walk around checks and inspections per OEM recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Operate Telehandler for lifting and loading tasks on site.
• Capture working hours on the time sheet and obtain approval from the customer representative.
• Use fuel, materials and equipment efficiently to minimise waste and maximise machine effectiveness.

We're Hiring Telehandler Operataor

Day To Day Duties Include

• Operate Telehandler for, lifting and loading tasks.
• Conduct pre-start checks, routine inspections, and basic maintenance to ensure the machine is safe and serviceable.
• Safe operation of plant machinery, according to training and OEM guidelines.
• Completion of daily walk around checks and inspections, according to OEM recommendations.
• Ensuring plant remains in good condition and free from damage.
• Ensuring all working hours are captured on the assigned time sheet and approved by the customer representative
• Ensure efficient use of fuel, materials and equipment to minimise waste and maximize machine efficiency.

Key Skills

• Proven experience in operating Telehandlers in a construction or civil engineering environment.
• Awareness of lifting operations, exclusion zones, and safe working limits of Telehandler

Other Considerations

• Valid CPCS/NPORS certification for relevant plant CSCS Logo Required
• CSCS Card (where required)
• Full UK driving license (desirable)
• Lifting Operations Training (desirable)
