Main purpose of the role

Based at our Manchester offices, the Planning Surveyor is a technical SME responsible for managing delivery activities related to securing planning rights for Mitie projects, including MNO customer projects, Solar PV, and EV solutions. The role involves working across multiple client programmes, requiring teamwork and technical expertise in planning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys and planning appraisals to facilitate project delivery.
• Prepare and manage planning applications throughout the process.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, providing expert planning advice.
• Perform research, site feasibility studies, and trend analyses.
• Work with local authorities, developers, and community stakeholders to meet regulatory requirements.
• Analyse network performance and identify improvement areas.
• Prepare detailed planning reports and ensure compliance with standards and policies.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
• Provide guidance to junior team members.
• Analyse market data, advise clients, and assess impacts of developments.
