About

Pre-Enablement Engineer – Building the Foundations for Full Fibre in Norfolk

About The Role

We’re partnering with a leading broadband provider at the forefront of the UK’s full-fibre revolution. As part of their rapid expansion, they’re seeking a skilled Pre-Enablement Engineer to prepare properties for seamless fibre installations—ensuring communities can access hyper-fast, future-proof broadband. This is your chance to play a pivotal behind-the-scenes role in transforming digital connectivity. You’ll be the first point of contact for fibre delivery, solving logistical challenges and laying the groundwork for flawless installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Install fibre to properties before the main installation—via underground slot trenching or overhead pole work (Openreach specs).
  2. Identify and resolve blockages, civils needs, or line-of-sight issues (e.g., tree cutting, pole assessments).
  3. Use rod and rope techniques to pull cables/subducts and leave fibre coiled safely for installers.
  4. Support the wider team by preparing sites, maintaining tools/vehicles, and assisting with installations when needed.
  5. Complete digital paperwork and manage customer expectations during pre-installation.
  6. Ensure strict compliance with health and safety and company processes.

Your Skills and Experience:

Essential: NRSWA Operative, SA001, SA002, SA007, SA008, QU020, QO1
Desirable: Sign lighting/guarding, MEWP/IPAF certified
1+ years’ experience in fibre pre-installation, civils, or Openreach underground and overhead networks
Basic IT and civils knowledge
Team player with problem-solving grit and attention to detail
Clean driving licence (van provided)
