About the job Tekla Detailer / Project Designer

My Client seeks a Tekla Detailer to join them at either Project Designer or Senior Project Designer level. The role will be based within their specialist SFS / Steel Framed Solutions Team. These roles are well suited to individuals with Tekla based software experience combined with detailing experience of either an SFS, light gauge steel, or cold-rolled steel focus. At both levels of the role, you will be required to undertake a well-rounded position in the design of SFS projects with the level of responsibility increasing at the Senior Level:

Both roles will require you to:

• Undertake and complete project design and detailing utilising Tekla working at an advanced level for Senior Designers.
• Work from architects' and structural engineers' drawings, interpreting the details and information from which you will then prepare and issue the SFS technical drawings.
• Attend Design Team Meetings.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with other design team professionals.
• Work in an organised, proficient, and timely manner to ensure a smooth delivery of projects.

Senior Project Designers will, in addition to the above, be required to take a lead role in the development, management, and production of detailed design plans and technical drawings/packages. You will take a lead role on projects utilising your project management and people skills to ensure a timely delivery of design schemes in accordance with project requirements and goals. Your experience in the industry will enable you to effectively work to the financial constraints of a project, ensuring the end design is cost-effective.

Qualifications / Experience

• A qualification in a relevant technical subject is required. It is desirable that the person has a recognised construction-based accreditation along with experience of utilising the Tekla software to produce accurate and concise drawing packages for projects.
• Given the focus of the roles, a background and prior experience of working on SFS, cold rolled steel, or light gauge steel projects would be required.
• You will be able to adopt a flexible approach to workload whilst demonstrating a willingness to take on additional work as and when required.
