Job summary

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Tekla Detailer to join a well-established structural steel contractor in Chester. You will take projects from engineering design through to fabrication, producing accurate 3D models and drawings that support production and delivery.

You will develop GA and CNC data, review engineering details, and liaise with engineers, managers and fabrication teams to ensure buildable solutions across commercial, industrial and infrastructure packages.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Tekla Structures for structural steel detailing.
• Ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Experience producing fabrication drawings, material schedules and CNC data.

Responsibilities

• Produce 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
• Develop GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings and CNC data.
• Review information and resolve detailing queries throughout project lifecycle.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers and fabrication teams for buildable solutions.
• Produce material schedules and manufacturing information for production.

The Role

You’ll play a key role in taking projects from engineering design through to fabrication, producing accurate models and drawings that keep production running efficiently and projects on schedule.

You’ll:

• Produce 3D models and fabrication drawings using Tekla Structures.
• Develop GA drawings, assembly drawings, single-part drawings and CNC data.
• Review engineering information and resolve detailing queries throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with engineers, project managers and fabrication teams to ensure buildable solutions.
• Produce material schedules and manufacturing information for production.
• Support multiple structural steel projects from design through to fabrication.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• Previous experience using Tekla Structures within the structural steel industry.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and detailing.
• Ability to interpret structural and engineering drawings.
• Experience producing fabrication drawings, material schedules and CNC information.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Desirable

• Experience working on commercial, industrial or infrastructure steelwork projects.
• Knowledge of connection detailing.
• Understanding of UK structural steel standards.
• Experience working alongside fabrication and site teams.
