A leading health service provider is seeking a Specialist Midwife for Teenage Pregnant Women to enhance midwifery services while focusing on teenage pregnancy. The role includes clinical leadership, developing care pathways, and promoting health for young mothers and their families, contributing significantly to community health improvement.
Job summary
To lead on the development and delivery of high-quality midwifery services in line with professional and government policy, with a particular focus on teenage pregnancy.
To develop the role of the Specialist Midwife for Teenage Pregnant Women, proactively generating practice innovation and demonstrating expert knowledge and skills that are underpinned by evidence-based practice.
To promote health and social well-being, contributing to the reduction in health inequality through the provision of a range of health promotion, education and social care advice for young people and their families.
Main duties of the jobTo be the clinical lead for Teenage Pregnancy (women and girls aged under 20 at booking).
To establish specialist antenatal care and parent education programme to meet the needs of teenage pregnant women and their families
To develop and be responsible for the agreed care pathway and guidelines for Teenage Pregnancy
To improve midwifery responses to teenage pregnant women by raising awareness of teenage pregnancy issues amongst acute and community staff.
To present annual reports on specialist Teenage Pregnancy service.
