As a Sr Solutions Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Technology Chief Data Office (CDO), you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of our Technical Data Lakehouse and developing supporting software that meets both technical and business requirements. You will provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and architecture. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you will translate business needs into technical specifications and evaluate tools and technologies to recommend optimal solutions. The architect ensures system scalability, performance, and security, while also managing the integration of new systems with existing infrastructure. You will create and maintain documentation, address technical issues, and stay updated with industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement in software solutions.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Provide feedback and propose improvements to architecture governance practices.
  2. Guide evaluation of current technology and lead evaluation of new technologies using existing standards and frameworks.
  3. Regularly provide technical guidance and support to the business, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
  4. Create complex and scalable coding solutions using appropriate software design frameworks.
  5. Drive decisions influencing product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
  6. Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more technical areas.
  7. Contribute to the engineering community by advocating for firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle.
  8. Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use of leading-edge technologies.
  9. Promote a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages, applications, and architecture.
  • Deep knowledge of software architecture, applications, and technical processes, with expertise in areas such as cloud, AI, machine learning, or mobile.
  • Ability to independently resolve design and functionality problems.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS or GCP), via hands-on work or certification.
  • Practical experience with data lake or data warehouse technologies (e.g., Spark, ETL, Databricks).
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Experience with metadata processes and technology, along with a background in data management and data quality.
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
