Technology Technician (20 hours, term time, Grade 4 Points 6-7)

The successful Science Technician will contribute to the smooth running of the school by carrying out a range of duties to ensure that the department can run effective lessons. This is a demanding role, and the successful candidate will need to be organised and able to prioritise their work, ensuring that student learning is not compromised.

The Technical Technician will provide technical support to the Technology department by preparing tools, equipment, resources, and materials for lessons. The technician will undertake a practical health and safety role within the department, working closely with teachers and pupils to ensure everyone's safety. They will also be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of equipment. No previous experience of working in a school setting is required.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

• Location: Warrington
• End date: N/A
• Contract type: Temporary
• Full time/part time: Depending on school needs, either full-time or part-time
• Minimum rate of pay: £90 per day
• Hours: 8:30 am – 4:00 pm (full day), half day (am or pm), or individual lesson cover

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous experience working in a UK school (desirable but not essential)
• Up-to-date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but not essential)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references covering the last two years
