What you will do:

1. Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership, translating business objectives into technology strategies that drive long-term growth and competitiveness.
2. Lead the development of a technology roadmap that aligns with business priorities, ensuring agility in response to market changes and technological advancements.
3. Lead the delivery of technology initiatives aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives, focusing on simplification, automation, data management, AI, and innovation.
4. Translate high-level strategic goals into actionable project plans, ensuring clarity and feasibility.
5. Drive the adoption of innovative business models and technologies, ensuring they are embedded into the organisation’s strategic framework.
6. Identify emerging trends and technologies that can create competitive advantages, fostering a culture of continuous innovation.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ideate, prototype, and scale new business solutions.
8. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of technology and innovation initiatives.
9. Ensure that projects deliver tangible business value, driving efficiency, cost savings, and competitive advantage.
10. Work closely with stakeholders to align on expected benefits and monitor post-implementation performance.
11. Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple technology projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
12. Manage risks and issues, developing mitigation plans to address potential roadblocks.

What you will need:

1. Proven experience in leading technology strategy delivery, particularly in simplification, automation, data, AI, and innovation business management.
2. Strong background in project management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile).
3. Excellent financial acumen with experience in business case development and benefit realization tracking.
4. Demonstrated ability in resource planning and capacity management.
5. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
6. Strong understanding of data governance, AI, automation technologies, and innovation frameworks.
7. Understand the risks associated with your job and what that means for you, Metro Bank and all our stakeholders.
