  • Compressed hours which fits the working dynamics and requirements of the team or any policy requirements

A Day in the Role

Your day might begin with a strategic catch-up with Procurement and Architecture to align on actions to implement your supplier strategy. You'll spend time developing those supplier strategies that move the division beyond tactical renewals, focusing instead on long-term partnerships. This could involve working with Technical teams to build market knowledge and shape future capabilities.

Mid-morning, you might review performance metrics and compliance across the divisional contractual landscape, ensuring delivery standards are met. You could then meet with one of our "Gold" suppliers-those of critical importance and high value-to discuss how to deepen the relationship and drive innovation. If you're in the office, lunch in the canteen with colleagues offers a chance to share insights informally.

In the afternoon, you might assist DGCIOs with building financial profiles to support budget management or collaborate with Technology SMEs to ensure supplier engagements are strategically aligned. You'll also document key decisions and prepare for upcoming strategic conversations with suppliers that aim to deliver change and value across the Bank.

This role is part of the Technology Office of the CIO, focusing on strategic supplier management within one of our Technology Leadership divisions. You will be responsible for developing and implementing supplier strategies, managing key supplier relationships (including Gold suppliers), and ensuring alignment with the Bank's broader technology and procurement strategies.

  • The ability to build relationships to get the best out of suppliers.
  • Comfortable communicating with key colleagues, at a senior level, with effective influencing skills.
