Grant Thornton's Technology Risk Services (TRS) team provides advice to help clients manage risks related to their use of technology. Our professionals deliver objective, value-added solutions to strengthen internal controls, governance, organizational strategies, technological capabilities, and operational efficiency.

TRS is part of Grant Thornton's Business Risk Services (BRS) department, serving FTSE100/250 companies, international and major charities, not-for-profits, and government departments. We offer tailored, flexible, and cost-effective solutions with industry best practices, insights, and expertise.

The Role

As a Technology Risk Services Assistant Manager, you will:

  • Take ownership of assigned projects.
  • Assist in preparing audit planning documents and contribute to budgeting for internal audits.
  • Perform fieldwork following GT methodologies, ensuring proper testing and evidence collection.
  • Support client close-out meetings to clarify issues and obtain agreement.
  • Draft and finalize internal audit reports with tailored recommendations, requiring minimal input from Managers and Partners.
  • Contribute to client proposals, presentations, and business development activities.
Candidate Profile

Minimum requirements include relevant professional IT audit qualifications (such as CISA, CISM, CISP) and experience in UK technology internal audits. Skills that are a plus include:

  • Experience in scoping, delivering, and reporting on technology audits.
  • Testing security controls like firewalls, cloud configurations, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Auditing cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and private cloud solutions (VMWare).
  • Auditing ERP systems such as SAP S/4 HANA and Oracle Fusion.
  • Experience with Data Protection/Privacy (GDPR), IT strategy, change management, business continuity, and IT infrastructure.
  • Testing IT general controls (ITGCs) and automated controls for SOX or similar reports.
  • Experience with technology transformation projects and system implementations.
  • Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of regulations and frameworks like Cyber Essentials, NIST, GDPR is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, especially in IT audit reporting.
