Job summary

Elsevier seeks a Portfolio Manager-Technology to shape how the technology organisation prioritises, plans and tracks its portfolio of initiatives. You will lead portfolio planning, governance and the OKR cycle, providing a clear view of priorities, progress, capacity and dependencies.

In this role you will design intake processes, drive continuous planning and ensure alignment with strategic goals and business outcomes while influencing senior stakeholders across Technology and product teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in portfolio management, enterprise PMO or portfolio governance within a complex, fast-paced organisation.
• Proven experience developing and improving portfolio management frameworks and processes, not simply maintaining project trackers.
• Experience leading strategic planning, goal-setting and OKR cycles.
• Strong experience designing initiative intake, prioritisation and governance processes.
• Ability to assess capacity, priorities and trade-offs, with the confidence to challenge, defer or stop work where appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a single view of all initiatives with ownership, resourcing, progress and risks.
• Design intake and prioritisation processes for new initiatives entering the portfolio.
• Lead Technology Leadership Team planning and OKR cycles, reporting progress and outcomes.
• Coordinate capacity planning to ensure initiatives are appropriately resourced and teams are not over-committed.
• Identify dependencies and risks; manage governance forums across teams.
