Job summary

JMC Legal Recruitment is assisting a Top 20 International Law Firm in Glasgow to hire a Technology & Media Associate (1-4 PQE). This Tier 1 team handles high-end technology and commercial work with a strong Scottish culture.

You will work on complex technology contracts, licensing, outsourcing and data protection, with exposure to AI and other emerging tech. The Scottish practice collaborates with the wider UK firm, offering varied, high-quality matters and client development from day one.

Qualifications

• Scottish Solicitor with 1-4 PQE and experience in commercial contracts, tech, IP or data protection.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills; able to manage own matters and support Partners.
• Commercially minded; translates legal issues into practical business advice.
• Confident in client dealings and in building relationships with stakeholders.

Your work will span complex commercial contracts, technology procurement, outsourcing, software and SaaS agreements, licensing, intellectual property and data protection. Matters range from negotiating significant technology agreements to advising on the commercial arrangements behind new products, services and innovations. There is also exposure to developing areas such as artificial intelligence, fintech, digital health and other emerging technologies.

Your Experience

• You are a Scottish Qualified Solicitor with 1-4 PQE and experience in commercial contracts, technology, IT, intellectual property or data protection.
• You have strong drafting and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage your own matters and support Partners on complex, high-value transactions.
• You bring a commercially minded approach and can translate legal issues into clear, practical advice that supports clients' business objectives.
• You are confident dealing directly with clients and building effective relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
• You are keen to contribute to a growing practice and take an active role in client development and wider team initiatives.
