Job description

About the role

The Technology Enabled Care Team is Bury Council’s in-house service that provides technological solutions to help individuals retain independence at home. The service includes ‘Carelink’, a 24/7 social alarm service in partnership with an external provider, supporting and monitoring community alarm units. We enable vulnerable people to live independently with easy access to help in emergencies.

The service is transitioning from analogue to digital solutions, making this an exciting time to be involved in social care technology.

The successful post holder will be based at Bradley Fold Industrial Estate, Bradley Fold Road, Radcliffe, and will play a key role in the service.

Key duties include:
  • Receiving and processing T.E.C referrals
  • Communicating with customers and their representatives via telephone and face-to-face
  • Setting up, programming, and installing tech solutions connected to emergency call systems
  • Conducting low-level maintenance of equipment

Applicants should have experience assisting vulnerable people, with excellent spoken and written English. Training will be provided for computer applications; experience with Windows-based applications is desirable.

The applicant must hold a full UK driving licence and have daily access to a car, as travel across the borough is required.

Working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility.

This post is not currently subject to a DBS check, but the council is committed to safeguarding and expects staff to share this commitment.
