Critical Mass is seeking aTechnology Directorto provide leadership and direction forMarketing Technology (MarTech) initiatives across EMEA. This role is pivotal indesigning and delivering impactful, data-driven marketing solutions, fostering innovation, and driving collaboration across disciplines.
Based inLondon, UK, theTechnology Directorwill be aclient-facing leader, engaging directly with clients throughpitches, workshops, and ongoing strategic meetings. This position requires ablend of hands-on technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional client service skillsto ensure the successful delivery of MarTech solutions.
The Technology Director will work closely withStrategy, Creative, Marketing Science, Media, and Production teamsto help clients leverage technology forpersonalized, cross-channel customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities MarTech Consulting & Thought Leadership
- Act as atrusted advisorfor clients across EMEA, driving MarTech strategies aligned with their business goals.
- Leadclient engagements, including pitches, workshops, and strategic meetings, representing the agency’s MarTech expertise.
- Develop and deliver compelling, strategic, and persuasive presentationsthat clearly communicate complex MarTech solutions.
- Providethought leadershipon howmarketing technologycan be leveraged to createpersonalized, cross-channel digital experiences.
- Quickly assess and pivot strategies when needed, makingsmart, informed decisionswhile ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Join client meetings at a moment’s notice, demonstrating agility and deep industry knowledge to address challenges and opportunities in real time.
Technical Content Strategy & Delivery
- Serve as thesubject matter expert (SME)onmarketing technology platforms, data-driven solutions, and integration architectures.
- Lead the development oftechnical content, presentations, and documentationthat supports both client engagements and internal knowledge-sharing efforts.
- Collaborate across disciplinesto translate technical concepts intoclear, actionable strategiesfor both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay informed aboutemerging technologies and trendsto identify opportunities for innovation and advancement in MarTech solutions.
Regional Leadership & Team Development
- Guide thetechnical content strategyfor MarTech initiatives across EMEA, ensuring alignment with global standards and practices.
- Mentor and developteam members, fostering ahigh-trust cultureand guiding their professional growth.
- Facilitateknowledge sharing and communicationacross teams, connecting EMEA efforts with global counterparts.
Business Growth & Innovation
- Supportnew business effortsby contributingtechnical insights and MarTech expertiseto pitches and proposals.
- Identifyorganic growth opportunitieswithin existing client relationships.
- Explorenew tools, data platforms, and technologiesthat can elevate the agency’sMarTech service offerings.
Required Qualifications Technical Expertise & Content Development
- Hands-on experiencearchitecting and implementing marketing automation platformsandcross-channel personalization solutions.
- Strong understanding ofMarTech platforms, data solutions (1st-party and 3rd-party), and their integrationinto broader marketing ecosystems.
- Proven ability totranslate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling contentfor various audiences.
- Experience utilizing technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), Sitecore, Drupal, WordPress, Adobe Commerce (Magneto), Salesforce, Shopify, Vercel, and React.
Consultative, Client-Facing Experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead client engagements, includingpitches, workshops, and stakeholder meetings.
- Exceptional ability to craft persuasive, strategic presentationsthat clearly convey complex MarTech solutions.
- Confidence to join client meetings on short notice, effectively responding to evolving needs with insightful recommendations.
- Strong client service skills, with the ability tonavigate high-pressure situations, think on your feet, and pivot quicklywhen necessary.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Experiencementoring and leading teams, with a focus oncollaboration and professional development.
- Ability tooversee multiple projects simultaneouslywhile maintaininghigh-quality content and technical accuracy.
- Skilled inbuilding strong relationshipswith Strategy, Media, Marketing Science, Creative, and Production teams.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience addressingdata privacy concernsrelated to marketing technology solutions.
- Familiarity withhigh-scale content creation or automation processes.
- Knowledge of theEMEA marketand its unique challenges/opportunities in marketing technology.
- StrongPOV and experience with AI, and applications in MarTech.
Location
This role is based inLondon, UK, with the expectation of engaging directly with clients acrossEMEAand collaborating with teams inNorth America. The Technical Content Lead will work closely with both regional and global teams to ensurealignment and consistencyin delivering MarTech solutions.
