MCS Group is thrilled to be partnering exclusively with a leading financial services organisation as they embark on an exciting journey to establish a new Technology Centre of Excellence (CoE) for compliance. This initiative will shape the firm's future technology strategy, with a focus on innovation, compliance, and operational excellence. We are seeking an accomplished technology leader with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering complex solutions in the financial services sector - specifically within trade surveillance, compliance, or related regulatory technologies.

The Opportunity

As the Technology Director, you will:

• Define and drive the strategic vision for the Centre of Excellence, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
• You'll lead and scale high-performing teams, building a culture of excellence, innovation, and accountability for a function with plans to grow to 100 over the next few years.
• Oversee the development and enhancement of trade surveillance, transaction monitoring and compliance-related platforms and tools, ensuring they meet evolving global regulatory standards.
• Partner with senior stakeholders across technology, compliance, and business functions to deliver transformative outcomes.
• You'll champion modern engineering practices and establish best-in-class delivery frameworks for the wider organisation.

About You

We are looking for a leader who can combine deep financial services expertise with outstanding people leadership skills. You will bring:

• Extensive experience in financial services technology, with direct involvement in trade surveillance, compliance and/or transaction monitoring, or regulatory platforms.
• A strong track record of leading, mentoring, and scaling technology teams in dynamic environments.
• Proven ability to drive large-scale technology transformation programmes in complex, regulated organisations.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at C-suite level.
• A passion for building something new and leaving a lasting impact.

Salary

£100-110,000 with a competitive benefits package which includes a fantastic bonus opportunity.
