Join us as a G7 Technology Delivery Manager for our client the Home Office.

The Role:

As a Senior Technology Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for delivering products within agreed timescales, to cost and quality standards. You may be responsible for 2-3 smaller delivery teams, or a single delivery team for a more complex product. You will work closely with Product Managers and senior stakeholders, effectively translating technical concepts and influencing where necessary.

You will be expected to use your experience and expertise to work flexibly, selecting and applying appropriate delivery techniques based on the requirements. You will provide support and guidance to your teams, ensuring successful delivery. You may also facilitate governance meetings and select the right participants for these discussions.

In addition, you will mentor, coach, or line manage less senior members of the delivery community, sharing your experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities:

Your main day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Translating a single product roadmap into complex or multiple delivery plans, considering required skills and using delivery data to set milestones.
• Delivering in line with the capacity of the delivery teams and budgeting effectively for resourcing needs.
• Managing risks, issues, and dependencies, adapting ways of working to mitigate risks.
• Partnering with Product Managers to influence senior stakeholders, translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Assessing effectiveness across multiple delivery teams and facilitating collaboration.
• Using feedback loops and data analysis to iteratively improve products and services.

You will also carry out the following activities:

• Making conscious trade-offs that balance speed, scope, and quality.
• Ensuring any tech debt incurred has a repayment strategy understood by all stakeholders.
• Advising on effective delivery practices to enhance team performance.
• Providing support and guidance to Technology Delivery Managers and team members.

Skills & Experience:

You’ll have a demonstrable passion for delivery with the following skills or proven experience:

• Creating and maintaining delivery plans that highlight forecasts and confidence levels.
• Translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Using people skills to create an effective team environment.
• Identifying and improving team delivery performance using metrics.
• Applying techniques from different methodologies for effective delivery.
• Managing budgets and commercial supplier relationships.
• Understanding and implementing good governance practices.
• Acting as Delivery Manager through a complete delivery lifecycle.
• Governance, risk, and compliance experience.
