Job summary

Markel is seeking a Technology Underwriter to focus on Technology and Cyber products within the PFR & Cyber division. The role spans international and UK-domiciled risks, offering a flexible platform for ambitious underwriters to grow their profile.

You will work on a diverse portfolio, including multi-national and SME clients, and contribute to product development and market positioning. The role emphasizes building broker relationships, market analysis, and client solutions, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Experience underwriting or broking within Technology and Cyber lines.
• Strong relationships within the Technology broker market.
• Experience with multinational placements is advantageous.
• Proactive and collaborative mindset with a proactive approach.
• Ability to navigate in-house systems and MS tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and strengthen broker relationships and communicate the Markel story to brokers and clients.
• Contribute to product innovation and refinement through market analysis of competitors.
• Engage with customers to identify needs and provide effective solutions.
• Lead and manage Tech broker pipelines and advance Markel’s interests.
• Identify new distribution and delegated/counterparty opportunities and implement where appropriate.
• Manage renewal book in line with appetite and strategy and target metrics.
• Stay informed on Tech package development to drive team product knowledge.
• Market and promote Markel’s Tech offering in the insurance market.
