The role combines hands-on control assurance with credible challenge, contributing to a strong risk culture and the ongoing enhancement of the Operational Risk Framework within a regulated UK banking environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering second-line control assurance reviews across ICT and information security.
• Ability to translate risk information into management insight for Board reporting and executive decisions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory expectations relating to operational risk and technology governance within a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead and perform second-line control assurance reviews focusing on ICT, information security, cyber resilience, operational resilience, technology change and AI governance.
• Provide independent challenge over risk assessments, control environments, remediation plans and technology initiatives with cross-functional teams.
• Own the second-line incident management process, ensure robust root cause analysis and embed lessons learned.
• Lead the RCSA process for designated business areas and provide independent challenge of risk and controls.
• Analyze incidents, complaints, RCSAs and other data to identify emerging risks and systemic weaknesses.
• Produce high-quality operational risk information for Executive Management and Board Committees with actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with Head of Financial Risk to develop an integrated view of the Bank's risk profile.
