Job summary

Interaction Recruitment Group is seeking a Technologist - Fall Arrest for a leading PPE testing organisation in Kettering. The role focuses on testing fall protection equipment such as harnesses, lanyards, connectors and anchorage systems, with potential to support other PPE testing.

The ideal candidate is organized, methodical and technically minded, with strong attention to detail and the ability to travel up to 50% of the time across the UK and abroad, performing tests and preparing reports

Qualifications

• GCSEs in English and Mathematics, minimum grade C.
• Full, valid driving licence and passport, with travel across UK and overseas.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Strong administrative, record-keeping and data-entry skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow detailed testing procedures accurately.
• Willingness to undertake practical work including setting up testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physical tests on PPE in accordance with relevant international and European standards.
• Prepare accurate electronic test reports and communicate results to customers.
• Coordinate testing schedules, prepare documentation and maintain internal systems.
• Liaise with customers by telephone, email and face-to-face, responding to technical enquiries and providing quotations.
• Learn and apply relevant testing standards and procedures.
• Arrange and conduct customer test visits at the organisation's premises and at customer sites across the UK and overseas, travel up to 50%.
• Carry out audits at manufacturers' sites to assess production control processes.
• Operate test equipment and accurately record results electronically and in hard copy.
• Assist with the ongoing improvement of testing facilities, procedures and services.
• Work outdoors at ground level and at height for extended periods when required.
• Full training will be provided.

Interaction Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a leading specialist testing organisation for a Technologist - Fall Arrest to join its Safety Product Testing department in Kettering.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, methodical and technically minded individual to join an established team responsible for testing personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure products meet relevant UK, European and international safety standards.

The Role

The successful candidate will primarily focus on testing fall protection equipment, including harnesses, lanyards, connectors and anchorage systems used for working at height. There may also be opportunities to support other areas of PPE testing as the role develops.

Key responsibilities will include:

The Ideal Candidate

The successful applicant will be highly organised, enthusiastic and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. They will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong time management skills and a flexible approach to changing priorities and deadlines.

Applicants should have:

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, minimum grade C or equivalent.
• A full, valid driving licence and passport, with the ability to travel throughout the UK and overseas.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
• Strong administrative, record-keeping, data entry and document management skills.
