Job summary

Morgan Jones Recruitment is seeking a Technologist with an ethical focus to join the technical team in Paddock Wood on a 12-month maternity cover contract, with potential to go permanent. Start date targeted mid-October, with handover before maternity leave.

You will manage grower due diligence, analyze data, and ensure customer and third-party requirements are met while driving ethical sourcing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience in fresh produce, technical, quality assurance or compliance environments.
• Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commercial awareness and ability to interpret customer and third-party requirements.
• Proactive, inquisitive, reliable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Manage grower due diligence and compliance documentation.
• Collate, analyse, and present technical and performance data.
• Support ethical compliance and customer requirements throughout the supply chain.
• Build and maintain relationships with growers, suppliers and customers.
• Assist with innovation and R&D projects including sustainability, packaging, product development.
• Support category leadership through data-driven insights and reporting.
• Contribute to implementation of technical projects and compliance improvements.
• Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting using Excel and other systems.

Technologist – Ethical Focus Location: Paddock Wood Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 Contract: Maternity Cover (with potential to become permanent) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week)

About the Role

Our Client is seeking a Technologist – Ethical Focus to join their Technical team on a 12-month maternity cover contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent. The ideal start date is between early and mid-October to allow a full handover before maternity leave commences in November. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in managing grower due diligence and ethical compliance activities, acting as the critical link between global supply partners and customers. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fresh produce, quality assurance, or technical experience who is looking to develop their expertise within a dynamic and growing sector. You will be responsible for gathering, analysing, and presenting technical and compliance data, helping ensure customer and third-party requirements are met while supporting continuous improvement and ethical sourcing initiatives.
