Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence; HGV licence an advantage.

Job description

£1,000 signing bonus (direct applicants only payable after 6 months)

Shift pattern: rotating weekly earlies/lates

  • Monday to Friday 0600hrs to 1400hrs/1400hrs to 2200hrs
  • Alternative Saturday 0600hrs to 1400hrs @ overtime - time and a half

We’re looking for a Technician Supervisor who’s as comfortable leading a team as they are getting hands-on with diagnostics and repairs.

What you’ll bring:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Experience as a senior technician or supervisor (HGV/Volvo experience a plus).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Strong technical knowledge of HGV diagnostics, repair, and maintenance (Volvo experience desirable).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence (HGV licence an advantage).
What will you be doing

As the Technician Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing workshop operations, allocating workloads, mentoring technicians, and ensuring compliance with Volvo’s high standards

  • Lead, support, and motivate a team of technicians to achieve workshop KPIs.
  • Allocate jobs, monitor progress, and ensure efficient workflow in the workshop.
  • Maintain high standards of health & safety, housekeeping, and quality control.
  • Carry out complex diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo Trucks when required.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members.
  • Liaise with service advisors and customers to ensure excellent communication and service.
  • Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer standards and within set timeframes.
