Job description

Production Technician - Rolling Stock

Location: Northampton

Pay Rate (Umbrella): £26.56 per hour, increasing to £27.99 after 12 weeks.

Pay Rate (PAYE): £21.32 per hour, increasing to £26.56 per after 12 weeks.

Duration: 6 months initially

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Working as part of the Engineering team, this challenging role involves production duties to a high standard.
  2. Supporting with the completion of repairs, modifications, and commissioning within a well-equipped rolling stock depot.
  3. With minimal supervision, undertake modification of the allocated rolling stock to meet the requirements of the modification and production plan.
  4. Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work.
  5. Working underneath the specified engineering instructions and drawings, following the methods and tooling specified within them.
Knowledge & Experience
  1. Must have relevant experience in an engineering environment.
  2. Ability to complete all records of actions and operations accurately and to procedures.
  3. Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling, and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH).
  4. Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic purposes.
  5. Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications.
  6. Ability to understand and care for tools, equipment, and PPE.
