We Are Hiring

• Bonus: Up to $1,000.00
• Department: 5East
• Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday 7A-7P
• Hospital: UAB-STV East
• Location: Trussville, AL

5 West, Medical/Surgical is a 19-bed unit that cares for a variety of general medical/surgical patients. Diagnoses on 5W include pneumonia, COPD, CHF, and diabetes. Common surgical procedures include EGDs, lithotripsy, PEG tube placement, and cholecystectomies.

What You Will Do

Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision, including:

• Aiding with movement and placement of patients.
• Assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reporting changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff and documenting necessary records.
• Maintaining patient rooms and medical equipment.

What You Will Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or transfer, accepted from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Nurse Aide preferred.

Education:

• High school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable job-specific experience required. Note: Professional licensure/certification can substitute for education or experience if applicable.
