About the Role

We are looking for a Technician with a focus on Science and Art to join our brand new Pudsey Sixth Form college!

You will work across teams supporting our science and creative curriculum areas. You will need to work well independently and as part of a team to prepare resources for practical science and creative sessions and occasionally support in the laboratory.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure the preparation, delivery and setting up of all equipment (where necessary) for use by staff and students including related paperwork for practical sessions with the Science Department
  • Ensure the preparation, delivery and setting up of all equipment (when necessary) for use by staff and students including related paperwork for practical session within the Creative Arts Department
  • Ensure that workshops, laboratories, classrooms and all equipment used are kept clean, tidy and in a safe condition.
  • Carry out routine and non-routine checking and fault investigation of all commonly used equipment and report to the senior/lead technician in cases where replacements/further investigation might be required.

About You

You will have:

  • GCSE English and Maths, grade A* - C or equivalent.
  • You will have good communication skills.
  • Be able to effectively manage your time and resources.
  • Have a science background and an understanding of health and safety regulations as well as an understanding of relevant policies and codes of practice.
  • Previous experience of working in an educational environment.
  • Able to work on own initiative and within a team.
