Job summary

Loughborough University’s Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering is seeking two technicians to join a specialist team, supporting and coordinating the daily operation of school technical facilities, ensuring safety and effective use of equipment.

You will bring hands-on experience in a laboratory or workshop, especially engineering or electronics, with the ability to diagnose, test and modify electronic gear while communicating clearly with diverse audiences.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a laboratory, workshop or other technical facility, specifically engineering / electronics.
• Ability to undertake diagnostic testing, repair and modification of electronic equipment.
• Ability to communicate complex information to a range of audiences, especially in electronics.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment.

• Ensure health and safety compliance and effective use of equipment and resources.

The postholder(s) will work as part of a specialised team to support and co-ordinate the daily operation of School technical facilities, using their knowledge and expertise to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and the effective use of technical facilities, equipment and resources. These positions provide an invaluable contribution to the learning, teaching and research aims of the School.

About You

• Experience of working in a laboratory, workshop or other technical facility, specifically engineering / electronics
• Ability to undertake diagnostic testing, repair and modification of electronic equipment
• Ability to communicate complex information in an effective and engaging way to a range of audiences, specifically in the area of electronics.
• Ability to be flexible and adapt to a changing work environment.
