Job description

Support creative learning and inspire student potential as a Technician (DT, Art & Photography) at John Cabot Academy in Bristol, UK. This permanent, full-time role offers an annual salary of £22,213 - £24,211, with a start date around November 2025. The technician will work closely with the Creative Design Department to prepare, maintain, and manage resources and equipment for DT, Art, and Photography lessons, ensuring safety and effectiveness in practical activities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting high-quality teaching and learning by managing specialist resources and equipment.
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed, including COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines.
  • Maintaining stock, preparing resources, and maintaining equipment to a high standard.
  • Supporting staff and students in practical activities and classroom settings.

About you:

  • GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent.
  • Interest or qualifications in design, art, or photography (e.g., A-Level in Art).
  • Understanding of safe working practices and handling specialist equipment.
  • Organised, with good time management and communication skills.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and committed to inclusion and safeguarding.
