Job description

Overview

We are looking for a Technician Demonstrator with creative making skills in a broad variety of techniques such as small scale metal work, glass fusing, enamelling and maquette making to complement our excellent technical provision. The technical team, and the workshops, studios and resources they manage are key to CSAD’s student experience. The technical team manages CSAD’s technical provision, deploying the School’s equipment and space in a system that ensures fairness and enhances safety, whilst promoting creativity, student-centred learning and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Supervising creative processes and practices to facilitate student learning
• Demonstrating techniques and processes
• Coordinating requirements and purchasing materials and equipment
• Developing own skills and knowledge to support the student experience
• Ensuring safe practice through implementation of the School’s Health and Safety policy

What you’ll bring

• Expertise in a broad variety of techniques, such as small scale metal work, glass fusing, enamelling and maquette making
• Hands-on studio experience – You can confidently deliver workshops and have relevant, recognised experience in a studio setting
• Clear communication skills – You can explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to support students and colleagues
