About the role

As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to our customers' homes. You will install products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. Additionally, you'll share your expertise by coaching and developing other delivery drivers in your team on home installations and customer service, acting as a role model for the excellent service John Lewis is known for.

Note: Due to the nature of this role, candidates must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the John Lewis brand with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Coach, develop, and assess your delivery colleagues, sharing knowledge to help them perform at their best.
  • Assist in loading your delivery vehicle with the day's items, working alongside the warehouse team.
  • Respect customers' homes, handle unexpected situations professionally, and find the best solutions for customers.
  • Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use after installation.
  • Stay updated on new products and technologies to enhance your performance.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Previous installation experience; training provided through our installer accreditation.
  • Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
  • DCPC and Tachograph Card.
  • Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and face-to-face.
  • Physical ability to handle large items such as sofas, white goods, and furniture.
  • Good understanding of technology.
Work Schedule

Full-time (41 hours/week), working 4 days across Monday to Saturday (06:00-17:00) or Monday to Friday (10:30-21:30) with a Saturday shift (07:00-18:00).
