Start Date: September 2025

Hours: 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

Salary: Grade 3 Points 11 to 18

£27,839 to £31,283 per annum

(subject to pending job evaluation)

West Lothian College is seeking a skilled Technician to join our faculty of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment. As part of our vibrant and progressive team, you will contribute to an environment that is dedicated to delivering exceptional education to both industry professionals and individuals.

We are excited to present an excellent opportunity for a qualified and experienced Workshop Technician who possesses expertise in the maintenance and servicing of workshop machinery, including wood cutting machines, surface planers, spindle moulders, drills, and various other tools and equipment. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working autonomously, and proficient in developing and executing maintenance schedules efficiently. A strong understanding of regulatory and statutory Health and Safety requirements, along with the ability to conduct and update risk assessments, is essential. Ideally, candidates will have a solid background in a relevant construction discipline, and hold a qualification at SCQF level 5. In this technician role, ensuring the meticulous monitoring of health and safety practices will be a crucial aspect, encompassing tasks such as completing risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and maintaining comprehensive records.
