Job summary

Nelson and Colne College Group is seeking a Technician to join the Construction & Motor Vehicle team in Accrington on a casual, temporary basis. The role will primarily be based at Accrington & Rossendale College, with potential site travel and occasional evening work to support adult delivery.

The successful candidate will prepare workshops, manage materials, operate the store service, and maintain tools and safety records. VRQ Level 3 or equivalent and construction experience are required.

Qualifications

• VRQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
• Experience of working within construction occupations.
• Knowledge of training environments or working with 16-18 year-olds.
• Experience of monitoring consumable usage and purchasing materials and equipment.
• Understanding of health and safety risk assessments and COSHH regulations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Building Services Workshops for practical assignments and to ensure course work materials are readily available for use.
• Take delivery of materials and stack/store correctly and carry out appropriate administration duties associated with the post.
• Provision of a store service and equipment and tool booking system.
• Maintain, repair and set up tools and equipment, including booking in of tools after use, check for re-use and return to storage.
• Carry out safety checks to equipment and update documentation as appropriate.

The Exciting Role
