Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking an Assembly Technician for their Adlington site in Macclesfield. You will perform mechanical assembly, read engineering drawings and pneumatic circuits, and participate in on-site commissioning and customer training.

This is a full-time role requiring accuracy, teamwork and a proactive approach. You will be responsible for maintaining parts lists, supporting testing, and ensuring quality standards are met prior to delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly and quality control.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and pneumatic circuits.
• Proven track record of working to deadlines on site.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical sub and main assemblies to high quality standards.
• Test and commission machines on-site and assist with deliveries.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Maintain accurate electronic parts lists and documentation.
• Provide customer training at site and escalate issues as needed.

Assembly Technician

Adlington, Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK | Full-time (39 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Your Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Assembly Technician to join our team in Adlington, Macclesfield.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Ensure assembly and build quality is of the highest possible standard.
• Ensure machinery is fully PDI’d and tested prior to delivery.
• Attending site for machine commissioning and breakdowns.
• Being self-disciplined, proactive, and hard working.
• High degree of interpersonal skills and communication skills.
• Working to deadlines and delivery dates.
• Ensure production instructions and quality standards are met/exceeded.
• Escalate any build anomalies to relevant persons.
• On-site commissioning and customer training.

What You’ll Bring

• Principally be responsible for the mechanical assembly of all sub and main assemblies.
• Be able to read and understand engineering drawings and pneumatic circuits.
• Manage and keep your electronic parts lists accurate.
• Can carry out mechanical surveys, repairs, and servicing of Proseal equipment.
• General engineering, marking out, drilling, and tapping.
• Carry out work on-site, or off-site as requested and agreed.

Qualifications

• Time served with C&G or modern apprenticeship.
