Swissport is recruiting apprentices for its UK&I fleet team at Birmingham International Airport. The role offers a structured career path with on-the-job training and study support for the Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Technician qualification.

You will work on GSE, under supervision, while earning a wage. Typical day includes basic servicing, assisting technicians, reporting progress, and maintaining tools and inventory.

Qualifications

• No prior knowledge of mechanics, hydraulics or electrics required.
• Candidates should have a passion for vehicle technology and aviation.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic service tasks and develop skills in component removal and reconditioning.

Swissport is looking to recruit talented and enthusiastic apprentices to its UK&I fleet team at Birmingham Internatonal Airport

The apprenticeships will offer a structured career path, support with study for professional qualifications and experience in technician roles with real responsibility.

The apprenticeship scheme will support the successful candidates in attaining their Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Technician qualification. During this time, apprentices will complete on the job training alongside attending courses at our training provider.

What does a typical day look like?

• FP&APerforming basic service tasks & developing skills in removal and reconditioning of components.
• Assisting qualified Technicians as needed.
• Reporting weekly to a mentor or Workshop Supervisor regarding ongoing activities and progression.
• Maintaining the condition of inventory, tools and equipment.
• You’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing GSE.
