Job summary

Auto Skills UK are recruiting a Vehicle Technician to join an established dealership in Birkenhead. You will carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs to high standards, with a salary up to £40,000 plus bonus and a Monday to Friday pattern with a 1-in-3 Saturday rota.

The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, at least two years’ experience and a full UK driving licence, plus your own tools and toolbox to perform skilled diagnostic work.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic within the automotive industry.
• Full, valid UK manual driving licence; licence checks will be carried out.
• Own tools and toolbox.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Perform mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose faults and identify repair solutions.
• Complete a variety of service operations and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure all work meets health and safety requirements and manufacturer standards.
• Maintain service documentation and record completed work.
• Identify additional repair requirements and communicate them appropriately.
• Support customer service by ensuring vehicles are safe and reliable.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain workshop efficiency.

THE ROLE: VEHICLE TECHNICIAN

As a Vehicle Technician in Birkenhead, you will carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs, ensuring every vehicle is worked on safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Carrying out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
• Performing mechanical repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Diagnosing faults and identifying the correct repair solutions.
• Completing a variety of service operations and maintenance tasks.
• Ensuring all work meets health and safety requirements and relevant manufacturer standards.
• Accurately recording completed work and maintaining service documentation.
• Identifying additional repair requirements and communicating these appropriately.
• Supporting excellent customer service by helping ensure vehicles are safe, reliable and maintained to a high standard.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to maintain workshop efficiency and productivity.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this Vehicle Technician position, you must have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• At least two years' experience working as a Vehicle Technician or Vehicle Mechanic within the automotive industry.
• A full, valid UK manual driving licence. Licence checks will be carried out.
• Your own tools and toolbox.
• Good mechanical knowledge and practical repair skills.
• A reliable, hardworking and professional attitude.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• The right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
• A valid MOT Testing Licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
