Job summary

Access Creative College, Nottingham campus, is seeking a hands-on Campus Technician to ensure teaching spaces are ready, safe and well-equipped for lessons, events and student projects.

You’ll set up equipment, provide front-line IT and AV support, troubleshoot systems and work with the Resource Manager to plan upgrades and keep spaces active for learning and creativity.

Qualifications

• Windows, macOS and ChromeOS support experience.
• Google Workspace and JAMF proficiency.
• Classroom AV equipment, including monitors and cameras.
• Troubleshooting IT, AV and network systems.
• Basic electronics, cable making and equipment repairs.
• Using tools and carrying out basic building maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Setting up and maintaining equipment for lessons, exams and events.
• Providing friendly front-line technical and facilities support.
• Troubleshooting IT, AV and equipment issues.
• Managing room and resource bookings and ensuring equipment is available.
• Carrying out routine equipment testing and basic repairs.
• Supporting specialist facilities including AV, cameras, music, VR.
• Working with contractors and IT teams on building systems and upgrades.
• Helping plan room upgrades and new facilities.
• Supporting student projects and evening/weekend bookings.
• Acting as a site keyholder and responding to out-of-hours calls.

Join our team and help create an outstanding learning environment for students and staff.

We’re looking for a hands‑on, solutions‑focused Campus Technician to support the smooth day‑to‑day running of our Nottinghamcampus.

Working closely with the Resource Manager and wider Campus Team, you’ll be a key point of contact for students and staff, providing technical, facilities and equipment support and helping ensure our spaces, systems and resources are always ready for teaching, events and student projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Setting up and maintaining equipment for lessons, coursework, exams and events
• Providing friendly, front‑line technical and facilities support to students and staff
• Troubleshooting and resolving IT, AV and equipment issues
• Managing room and resource bookings and ensuring equipment is available when needed
• Carrying out routine equipment testing, preventative maintenance and basic repairs
• Supporting specialist facilities, including AV, cameras, music, VR and other creative technologies
• Working with contractors and IT teams on building systems, upgrades and maintenance
• Helping plan and deliver room upgrades, improvements and new facilities
• Supporting student projects, external events and evening/weekend bookings
• Acting as a site keyholder, including opening/closing the building and responding to out‑of‑hours alarm call‑outs

What we’re looking for

You’ll be practical, organised and confident working with people, with a can‑do approach to solving problems.

Essential experience includes:

• Windows, macOS and ChromeOS
• Google Workspace and JAMF
• Classroom AV equipment, including monitors and cameras
• Troubleshooting IT, AV and network systems
• Basic electronics, cable making and equipment repairs
• Using tools and carrying out basic building maintenance

It would be great if you also have experience with:

• Adobe Creative Suite
• Music production and audio equipment
• Unity, Unreal Engine or Blender
• VR, cameras and videography
• Logic Pro or Ableton Live
• PA, lighting, DMX and AV networking
• Streaming equipment and platforms, including Blackmagic ATEM and OBS
