The Fashion Retail Academy is seeking a skilled Technician for a permanent position to provide learning support for students in fashion design courses. This role involves ensuring that workshops are equipped and running efficiently while supporting students in their practical skills development. Ideal candidates will have industry experience in pattern cutting and garment construction, along with excellent interpersonal skills.

39 hours per week, Term Time Only

About the role
We are seeking a skilled Technician to provide high-quality, efficient learning support to students studying fashion design, garment technology and visual communication & styling courses at the FRA. In this key role, you will work closely with academic staff to create an effective learning environment, supporting students in their practical skills development. You’ll ensure that our practical workshops and portable machinery are fully operational and equipped for classes, in line with course requirements. The ideal candidate will have industry-standard experience in pattern cutting, garment construction and styling, as well as expertise in equipment maintenance.

Salary:
£27,287.50 (actual salary) per annum (pro rata £29,500), subject to qualifications and experience
