Bell & Colvill – Lotus Surrey & McLaren Guildford Approved Service is seeking a full-time, on-site Technician in Guildford to diagnose, service, repair and maintain Lotus vehicles to manufacturer standards.

The role requires strong diagnostics, mechanical and electrical repair skills, plus the ability to interpret technical manuals and communicate clearly with colleagues. A franchised-dealership background and brand training willingness are preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent required.
• Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills essential.
• Experience with modern diagnostic tools and manufacturer systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out diagnostics, servicing, repairs and maintenance on Lotus vehicles.
• Follow manufacturer standards and workshop procedures.

• Coordinate with service advisors and parts teams to order components and meet timelines.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Technician role based in Guildford. The Technician will carry out diagnostics, servicing, repairs, and maintenance on Lotus vehicles, following manufacturer standards and workshop procedures. Daily tasks include performing inspections, identifying faults, completing mechanical and electrical/ HV work, and ensuring accurate documentation of all jobs. The role involves working closely with service advisors and parts teams to coordinate jobs, order required components, and meet agreed timelines. The Technician will also uphold health and safety standards, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and contribute to delivering an exceptional customer experience through high-quality technical work. Qualifications

• Strong vehicle diagnostics and fault‑finding skills, including experience with modern diagnostic tools and manufacturer systems.
• Proficiency in mechanical and electrical repair, routine servicing, and maintenance of performance or premium vehicles.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation, service manuals, and repair instructions accurately.
• Solid organizational and time‑management skills to manage multiple jobs and meet workshop deadlines.
• Clear and professional communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and, when required, explain technical issues in accessible terms.
• Relevant automotive technician qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and experience in a franchised dealership or specialist workshop.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality standards, and a safety‑focused approach to all workshop activities.
• Genuine interest in performance and sports cars, especially Lotus and McLaren, with a willingness to undertake brand‑specific training and continuous professional development.
