Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an established Technician for a client site in London. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, including carpentry, plumbing and decorating, while maintaining high HSE standards and delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires City & Guilds/NVQ 2/3 or equivalent, with electrical/mechanical knowledge as an advantage. You will join a facilities team and support energy efficiency initiatives, reporting defects and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Fabric Technician or similar role with hands-on building maintenance experience.
• Experience in carpentry, plumbing, decorating, or basic repairs.
• Experience in client-facing environments and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

Job TitleTechnicianJob Description SummaryJob DescriptionTechnicianGlobal Occupier ServicesLondonCushman & Wakefield (NYSE: CWK) is a leading global commercial real estate services firm for property owners and occupiers with approximately 53,000 employees in nearly 400 offices and 60 countries.We have a new opportunity for an established Technician to join our market-leading Global Occupier Services business, based at our clients site in London.Responsibilities will include:Provide planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance services as instructed, ensuring all operational standards, processes, and procedures are followed.Carry out general fabric maintenance tasks, including basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and building repairs, in line with competency levels and site requirements.Support clients and building occupants in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner, delivering excellent customer service at all times.Contribute to the delivery of service commitments by maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance and supporting a safe and secure working environment.Undertake routine inspections and condition checks of building assets, fabric, fixtures, and equipment, reporting any defects or non-compliance issues.Assist the engineering and facilities teams with a range of maintenance and operational duties as required.Respond promptly to client requests, service calls, and maintenance issues, escalating more complex problems where necessary.Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Health and Safety at Work regulations, company policies, and site procedures.Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives by identifying and reporting opportunities for improvement.Complete maintenance records, work orders, and inspection reports accurately and in a timely manner.Use established procedures and guidance to resolve routine maintenance issues and complete assigned tasks effectively.Work independently on allocated tasks while contributing positively to the wider facilities and maintenance team.Experience & Qualifications RequiredPrevious experience in a Fabric Technician, Maintenance Technician, Building Maintenance, Carpentry, or similar role.City & Guilds qualification, NVQ Level 2/3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent trade-based qualification.Experience or basic qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical disciplines would be advantageous.Practical experience carrying out building fabric repairs, maintenance, and minor installation works.Strong customer service and communication skills, with experience working in a client-facing environment.Ability to prioritise and self-manage assigned tasks while determining material and equipment requirements.Good understanding of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.Experience within a Facilities Management, commercial property, or maintenance environment is desirable.A flexible and proactive approach to work, with a willingness to support a variety of maintenance activities across site.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with others and exchange accurate information; operate a computer and other office productivity machinery; move about the workplace; remain in a stationary position for 10% of the time; and extend hands and arms in any direction.Cushman & Wakefield is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
