Job summary

A major transportation management organization is seeking a Structures Technician in the Yorkshire region. This role includes responsibilities in asset management, safety considerations, and supports development of maintenance and renewal solutions. Job description

National Highways have an excellent opportunity for a Structures Technician to join our team in the Yorkshire, North East region. The Structures Technician will support in the identification of structures-specific needs, development of solutions, and asset management activities. The role may require working unsociable hours.

Please note: You will be required to drive as part of your role. You must have no more than 3 points on your driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered throughout planning and service delivery.
  2. Support the identification and evaluation of asset-specific needs to develop future maintenance, renewals, and improvement solutions.
  3. Assist in developing asset renewal and improvement plans, following established methodologies and prioritisation criteria.
  4. Support asset studies and survey works management.
  5. Contribute to early solutions for improvements and renewals, including compiling relevant documents, evidence, and options for value management.
About You:
  • HND/C or relevant qualification with experience, or working towards it.
  • Knowledge of asset condition assessment and degradation modelling.
  • Understanding of DMRB standards and their application on the highways network.
