The Role:

Based in Crewe, working on a 4 on 4 off schedule, you'll provide technical engineering support for the TfW MK4 fleet and other customer fleets, including inspection, fault diagnosis, and developing solutions to technical and tooling issues.

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide technical advice, including briefs, drawings, fault-finding, and defect investigations to enhance fleet reliability.
  • Liaise with the Service Delivery Manager to coordinate workload and priorities.
  • Lead customer meetings and maintenance planning sessions.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed per VMI and local instructions.
  • Update IT systems such as maintenance management systems and SAP, ensuring accurate job closure.
  • Conduct quality audits and prepare reports.
  • Investigate safety incidents to determine root causes.
  • Collaborate with customer technical teams as needed.
  • Assist with electrical testing and act as an Authorised Person.
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop technical skills.
What You Bring:
  • Recognized engineering qualification at HND level.
  • At least 5 years' experience as an apprentice-trained CI fitter/electrician, working with passenger trains like DMU/MK4 Locomotives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365, SAP, Power BI, and related tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Valid driving license.
